Explore Northern Virginia

Built for Northern Virginia.

This isn’t a national directory that happens to include your town. The Local Tab is focused on the places people here actually go — the pub down the road in Herndon, the taproom in Leesburg, the date-night restaurant in Alexandria.

Venue coverage is growing across Northern Virginia. Each town below links to what we are building there.

Find the right venue

The right place for tonight, not just any place.

Choosing somewhere used to mean scrolling a list and hoping. Find My Spot starts from the night you’re planning — where you are, what you’re after, how loud, how much — and explains why each result fits.

Find My Spot

Your kind of place. Your kind of night.

Tell us the town, the occasion, the atmosphere and your budget. Find My Spot narrows the list and explains why each place fits — rather than a list that doesn't explain itself.

How Find My Spot works

Build My Tab

Know the cost before you go.

Estimate what a night actually costs using observed drink and food prices, with the serving sizes and happy-hour rules that make a comparison fair.

How Build My Tab works

The Local Tab Score

Ratings that reflect what matters.

Six independent dimensions — atmosphere, value, drinks, service, food and cleanliness — weighted for the kind of venue it is, and never shown without enough ratings behind it.

How the Score works

These tools run inside the Local Tab app. Today’s website explains how each one works and lets you call or visit a venue directly while the app is finalised.

Price transparency

Understand food and drink prices.

A price on its own can mislead you. Without the serving size, the date it was recorded or the rules attached to it, two completely different deals can look identical.

The Local Tab records every price observation with the context that makes it meaningful — so you compare what you’d actually get, not a number in isolation.

Serving size

A draft and a bottle aren't the same deal at the same price.

Observation date

Prices change. A date tells you how much to trust it.

Restrictions

Happy-hour rules, days and exclusions, shown where known.

What makes us different

Good information isn’t for sale.

Price comparisons and ratings only mean something if nobody can buy their way up them.

  • Free factual listings

An accurate venue listing costs nothing and always will.

  • Scores aren't purchasable

No venue can buy a higher Local Tab Score.

  • Sponsorship changes no prices

Paid placements never alter an observed price.

  • Sponsored is always labelled

Every paid placement is clearly identified.

  • Ads don't set the order

Organic discovery is decided by what fits your search.

  • Unknown stays unknown

Missing information is never presented as confirmed.

Venue information and community accuracy

Better information. Built together.

Venues can send us their own menus and prices, and anyone can flag something that looks out of date. Every record says where it came from and when it was seen — and a person reviews it before it goes anywhere.

How each contribution is handled

  1. 1

    Checked before it's public

A person reviews every submission. Nothing shows until it has been.

  2. 2

    Sourced and dated

Each entry says where it came from and when it was observed.

  3. 3

    Corrections are welcome

Anyone can flag an error; venue owners can request factual corrections.
